Winner of the 1999 L.A. Music Award in the category of Outstanding Guitarist, opening shows for Bonnie Raitt, Etta James and the only woman asked to audition for the post-Garcia version of the Grateful Dead, the Nashville based blues singer-songwriter, Lauren Ellis gets another opportunity to reveal her considerable wares on the new dual-disc album, ‘Feels Like Family’, recorded in her new hometown.
Already aired on MTV’s reality shows The Real World, Road Blues and Extreme, songs from the album feature contributions from major country and blues players like Tony Joe White, Viktor Krauss and Dean Parks.
Open, natural, honest it’s an album of gentle but considerable extremes: break-up and endurance and includes heaps of acoustic, electric, national steel, lap and baritone guitars.
Extras on the DVD side of the disc include the entire album mixed in 5.1 Multichannel Surround Sound, lyrics, liner notes, interviews, live performances, video scrapbooks, photos and ROM content.
