Apparently Scion is the newest line of vehicles from Toyota in the US aimed at the less than coveted youth market. And what you have here is a retail process as innovative and consumer-driven as the cars themselves. And whilst not quite as easy to handle at speeds over 75mph, it’s an album that’s just as squarely aimed at the Generation X-Y market. And for this read some of the more cutting-edge, underground hip-hop artists stacked up as rolled out by The Rub’s Cosmo Baker (a crucial part of Philadelphia nightlife) and Mississippi born, Brooklyn based Southpaw resident, DJ Ayres. More conceptual than a ccX 3-door coupe and more energy efficient than a Scion Xb, v15 Mixed By Cosmo Baker & DJ Ayres pulls in artists as diverse as The Streets, Stimulus, Ghostface, Fannypack, Bloc Party, Loose Joints, Nick Chacona, Pase Rock, Spanrock, Sway, Coldcut, Roots Manuva and Mr Vegas to grease the wheels of the car manufacturer’s ongoing cultural journey. But cynical marketing device aside, the result is a fun-filled party mix of end-to-end love dancing.
